2016 Linguistics Challenge

February 6, 2016, 9:00am-3:00pm

Our first ever Linguistics Challenge at Iowa State was on Saturday, February 6, 2016. Linguistics is the study of how human languages are structured and used. This may involve discovering the patterns for how words are created, how sounds are combined to create meanings, how sentences are (and are not) put together ("John walked home" is right, "John home walked" is not), and how speakers use language to communicate meaning.
