(M.A., University of Birmingham; Ph.D., Iowa State University), Assistant Professor, researches connections between academic writing, self-regulated learning, and instructional technology. His PhD dissertation was awarded the 2012 Christopher Brumfit Award for outstanding doctoral thesis in applied linguistics. His research has appeared in Language Learning & Technology, CALICO Journal, Computer-Assisted Language Learning, and other publications. With Evgeny Chukharev-Hudilainen, he was recently awarded a grant from the National Science Foundation to investigate applications of keystroke-logging and eye-tracking software to support ESL student writers and writing instruction.
